Today’s art journal inspiration was a really fun page for me to lay out! I was inspired by an image of the Albert Einstein quote, “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” From there, I just had fun with colors and other quotes that I relate to.
One thing I like to do when creating an art journal page is to find an image or quote that really inspires me and build the page around that image. In this particular layout, I started with the colorful Albert Einstein quote, and then started searching for other quotes and images that fit the theme. By assigning a focal point, I was able to narrow down the types of images to use on the page. This is really helpful when you are feeling overwhelmed or don’t know where to start with a page!
In order to create the colorful background, I tore colored tissue paper up into various shapes, making sure to leave edges on some of the pieces to line up with the edge of the page. I then used glossy ModPodge to decoupage the tissue paper until the entire left page was covered. I used a blow-dryer to speed up the drying time of the ModPodge so that I could continue gluing my chosen images onto the page. The next layer includes cut-out pictures, quotes, and stickers. Finally, I transferred a gold foil temporary tattoo onto the page for a finishing touch. I was really pleased with how this lay out turned out!
